Congress
The Legislative Branch is made up of the House of Representatives and the Senate, which together form Congress. Congress can vote and discuss laws, declare war, and permit or reject Presidential appointments. The Legislative branch holds the authority of checks and balances, which is a way to keep other government branches in check. For the Executive branch, it has the power to impeach the president, override presidential vetoes, declare war, and set the budget. For the Judicial branch, it can impeach and remove judges, and confirms all Supreme Court appointees.
